Team USA have already won plenty of medals at the Paris 2024 Olympics and they will be looking to add to their tally in the golf.
There are six medals up for grabs (three for men and three for women) and there are seven golfers representing the US over the next fortnight.
The men’s competition will take place from Thursday, August 1st until Sunday, August 4th and the women’s tournament starts on Thursday, August 8th and ends on Sunday, August 11th.

Team USA’s four-man lineup for the men’s event is stacked with top-tier talent. World number one Scottie Scheffler, who has enjoyed a 2024 season comparable to Tiger Woods’ legendary 2000 campaign, will make his Olympics debut.
Xander Schauffele, who won gold at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, is also in red-hot form. He won the recent Open Championship and the PGA Championship before that. He has every chance of going back-to-back at Le Golf National.
Wyndham Clark is not one of the most high-profile names in the sport but he has the game to stand on the top step of the podium. Collin Morikawa has come close in a number of events this season, having played more regularly to ensure that he qualified. Could the Olympics be his time to shine?
Team USA’s female golfers at the Paris 2024 Olympics

Nelly Korda is one of three female golfers representing Team USA at the Paris 2024 Olympics. The 26-year-old, who took home the gold medal in Tokyo, has won seven LPGA Tour events this season. She is clearly the best player in the world, despite missing the cut at the U.S. Women’s Open, and the firm favourite to go all the way in Paris.
Lilia Vu won two majors last season, the Chevron Championship and the Women’s British Open, and finished second at the Women’s PGA Championship this summer. She has proven to perform on the biggest occasions and should be amongst the top players next week.
Rose Zhang would be a surprise winner of the gold medal but she is more than capable of doing so. The 2024 Cognizant Founders Cup winner qualified for Team USA’s Olympic team for a reason.
