Team USA have announced their four-man team for the Olympics in Paris next month but US golf fans are far from happy.

The US are taking a four-strong outfit over to Paris and have some of the best golfers in the world as part of their squad.

World number one Scottie Scheffler leads the way, while recent PGA Championship winner and current gold medal holder, Xander Schauffele, has also made it again.

Backing those two up is two-time major winner Collin Morikawa, while 2023 US Open winner Wyndham Clark takes the final spot for Team USA.

But while those four names are easily a quartet of some of the best players on the planet, some of the Team USA fans over in America are far from happy.

And specifically, it’s the inclusion of Wyndham Clark that has got the fans talking.

American golf fans not happy at Wyndham Clark’s inclusion in the USA Olympic Team

As is always the case on social media, there are some extreme opinions when it comes to the selection for Team USA.

But the common theme in the comments is an unhappiness at Clark making it to Paris.

@grubb_adrian even suggested that Clark has some sort of inside info on the PGA Tour big-wigs…

“Wyndham Clark must have some absolute dirt on some of these gold execs because there is no way he is one a top 4… or even top 10 American golfer.”

@Georgia_Belle23 also suggested Clark didn’t deserve his place:

“Wyndham Clark only made one major cut this year at the US Open, and even then he barely made it and finished T56, +12, and with a cheating controversy.”

Of course, there are a few players who might feel they could replace Clark in the team, and fans have been throwing their suggestions in.

One common name mentioned was US Open 2024 winner, Bryson DeChambeau.

@BobbyWilson1004 made that suggestion:

“Is it too late to swap out Clark for DeChambeau??”

While another user also agreed with that point.

Cory Brown on X: “@NUCLRGOLF @USAGolf Who you taking Bryson over? Clark for me right now. His mind and game are off” / X

While another user used some stats to back up why DeChambeau should be in over Clark.
