Scottie Scheffler is the dominant force in golf right now and is coming off an emotional Olympic victory at Le Golf National.

The world number one has seven wins to his name since the turn of the year, including his second Masters title.

Scheffler has described his 2024 as incredible, and it’s hard to argue with his assessment as the PGA Tour playoffs get underway at the St Jude Championship.

The American is looking to finally win the FedEx Cup title, and Scheffler has welcomed the changes made to East Lake ahead of the season-ending finale.

Scottie Scheffler: The Masters, Players and Olympics were extra ‘special’

Scheffler is currently in contention at TPC Southwind and, after his first round, was asked to name his favourite win of 2024 thus far.

The two-time Masters champion could nail down one moment but did name three events which felt extra special.

“As far as golf, it’s been great being able to get some results and get some wins. This year, it’s been a tonne of fun,” Scheffler explained. “I don’t know what my exact favourite memory would be, but the Olympics was pretty special; the Players were special, and the Masters obviously was special as well. It’s hard to really pick a favourite.”

He added: “All of them were cool in their own way. You think of the Players, I had my family there and the big come back on Sunday. The Masters, with it being my second win and it being close and the way I closed out the back nine, was cool, and then with Paris and the whole family being there and Bennett. Those are pretty special moments. It’s hard to pick a favourite out of those.”

Scottie Scheffler’s Masters win was the most eye-catching

When it comes to Scheffler’s performances in 2024, it’s hard to look past his victory at Augusta. The American was in complete control throughout and never looked like he was going to pass up the chance to don his second green jacket.

The golf he played was relentless, and he never gave any of the chasing pack a sniff during the final round.

However, his victories at the Players and the Olympics were probably more entertaining. Scheffler knew he had to make up ground and produced some scintillating golf, particularly at Le Golf National, where he carded a season-low nine-hole stretch.

And with Scheffler firmly in contention in Memphis, win number eight could be imminent.
