Predictions for the 2024 St Jude Championship
Our expert team of writers at The Golfing Gazette have predicted how they think the 2024 St Jude Championship will unfold and who they consider to be the favourite to win it this year.
Sam Stone: “Collin Morikawa has come close several times to winning on the PGA Tour this season and looked in red-hot form in April.
“He pushed Scottie Scheffler all the way at Memorial and is probably due another run after producing some indifferent form at the Olympics and the Open Championship. Morikawa – back in traditional US conditions – could improve upon his T13 finish from 12 months ago.”
Peter Lynch: “It’s easy to pick either Scottie Scheffler or Xander Schauffele for the first FedEx Cup playoff event. But their fellow American, Collin Morikawa, has often been pushing his compatriots all the way in recent times, and I think his first win of 2024 could arrive this week in Memphis.”
Lee Connor: “I’m going to back Billy Horschel to win the St Jude Championship. He’s hit a good patch of form and hasn’t been too far away a few times now. Plus, he’s a very likeable character and I’d like to see him upset the favourites and get another win under his belt.”
