Tiger Woods is one of the star names behind the upcoming TGL and the 15-time major winner believes there is a major selling point they can offer the average golf fan at home.
Woods will not play the opening week of TGL despite being the star attraction alongside Rory McIlroy.
However, Woods is expected to be more than fit enough to play and after doing well at the PNC this weekend alongside his son, Charlie, there’s hopes that Woods will be ready to go.
Woods has described his game as ‘rusty’ going into the PNC but nevertheless, he is still one of the top draws in the game.
Of course, the TGL is s side project for Woods as he continues to lead the way in talks between the PGA Tour and LIV Golf.
However, according to Woods, the TGL will offer fans something completely new.

Tiger Woods explains why golf fans will love watching the TGL
With the TGL set to launch in January, Woods is being asked a flurry of questions about the product and its place in the game in general.
But according to Woods, it is the TV side of things that is really going to blow fans away.
“Yeah, it’s going to be great,” Woods said while speaking to the media at the PNC Championship.
“This is what we’ve been shooting for. We’re trying to bring a new demographic to this game of golf, and it’s going to be exciting. I was blown away at the amount of moving parts there is to this.
“There’s a lot of moving parts, but as a showcase, it’s going to be unbelievable on TV. I hope that we can invigorate the game because it definitely needs it right now.”
What has the reaction to the TGL been?
The TGL is something new again in the game of the golf and the reality is that until it kicks off, we won’t really know how good it is.
Tiger’s former coach Hank Haney has backed it to be a success, while Rickie Fowler likes what he sees, albeit he says it’s not quite full golf.
“It’s not real golf, but it’s not hitting balls in your bedroom simulator; it’s somewhere kind of in-between. They are all new holes; they are not holes you have seen before; they were designed just for this,” Fowler said.
“There is some adjusting to do to hitting on the monitors and how the ball reacts there, and also how it is chipping off the synthetic and playing on the synthetic green.”
Still, with the game constantly evolving and LIV being the initial stirrer of the pot, the TGL has a chance to give fans something they’ve never seen before and carve its own path in the game.
