Rory McIlroy has finally won The Masters, clinching his first title at Augusta National with a playoff win over Justin Rose.
Rose loved sharing the winning moment with McIlroy despite the defeat, having made par on the extra 18th hole as the Northern Irishman made birdie.
McIlroy has received congratulations from Tiger Woods after his win, which has helped him secure the career Grand Slam.
The Masters winner is now a five-time major champion, with his most recent title prior to this week having come at the 2014 PGA Championship.
It was an 11th attempt at the career Grand Slam for McIlroy, who has now emulated Gene Sarazen, Ben Hogan, Gary Player, Jack Nicklaus and Woods.

Nick Faldo says Rory McIlroy needs ‘a breather’ after finally winning The Masters
And Sir Nick Faldo, a three-time champion at The Masters, was quick to praise the latest winner, having been asked on Sky Sports Golf what he thinks McIlroy will do next.
“I should think right now he couldn’t care less!” said Faldo. “He has just climbed Mount Everest. I am not sure you put on another pair of clamp-ons and have another go just yet.

“Give the guy a breather. I really honestly don’t know whether this rekindles a man to have a second phase at a career which is the rarest of rarest things.
“Whether he is going to reboot and I think can win more, I honestly do not know. It is just phenomenal what we have seen and he’s achieved.
“I have known him since he was a kid. 20 years ago he played my Faldo Series, so I have been a part of his life for a long time, as you can imagine I am chuffed.”
What major championships has Rory McIlroy won after his success at The Masters?
Faldo does, of course, know all about what it takes to succeed at Augusta National Golf Course and win The Masters.
He won the major championship in 1989, 1990 and 1996, with the likes of Gary Player and Phil Mickelson joining him on three wins.
