Collin Morikawa is six shots back of the lead at the halfway stage of the ZOZO Championship at Accordia Narashino Country Club in Japan.

Defending champion Morikawa posted a three-under 67 on Friday to take him to four under for the tournament.

The American, however, was involved in an interesting moment on the 18th hole on Thursday. Morikawa fell over whilst attempting to hook his bunker shot around a tree on the par-five.

Two-time major winner Morikawa saw the funny side of the shot and wrote, ‘How to hit a draw’ on X after his round.

Fellow PGA Tour star Min Woo Lee has now had his say on Morikawa’s lay-up.

Lee currently sits at two under and ten shots back of the lead after the second day’s play.

Taking to Instagram, the Aussie posted a hilarious response to Morikawa’s bunker shot.

“What faders have to feel to hit a draw,” wrote the 26-year-old.

Lee and Morikawa practice together and are just two of several PGA Tour players who live in Las Vegas.

Collin Morikawa must go low on day three at ZOZO Championship

With 12 under leading the way, it’s going to take a low round on Saturday for Morikawa to contend heading into the final day.

Birdies thus far haven’t been an issue for the world number four; it’s been keeping doubles off his scorecard.

Morikawa made a double bogey on the par-five sixth on Thursday and also dropped two shots on the 12th during his second 18. Looking to alleviate mistakes is a must heading into the weekend for the two-time major winner.

Elsewhere, Xander Schauffele is two under after bouncing back from a nightmare opening round. The reigning Open Championship winner carded five birdies on his way to a bogey-free 65.
