World number nine Collin Morikawa can’t believe what Min Woo Lee just did in a practice round after initially saying he only wanted to play three holes.
Two-time major winner Morikawa has performed exceptionally well in 2024, finishing T3 at The Masters and T4 at the PGA Championship.
Despite failing to land a victory, it feels like it’s only a matter of time for the American.
Morikawa is taking a week off after finishing fourth at the Charles Schwab Challenge – and has been on the course with the Aussie sensation.

On Thursday, Lee posted an image of a scorecard with a personal best score of an 11-under 61.
The Australian wrote on his Instagram story: “Personal best today. 61 off the tips. -11. Started out hot.”
Morikawa replied: “Min Woo Lee said he only wanted to play three holes today. Turned into a 59 watch.”
Min Woo Lee due his first PGA Tour win
Lee’s first PGA Tour victory feels like it’s just around the corner. The 25-year-old clearly has the talent to compete with the world’s best; it’s now about delivering in the most pressurised moments.
The signs have been good in the major championships. The Australian finished T22 at The Masters and T26 at the PGA Championship.
With the U.S. Open at Pinehurst now firmly in sight, Lee could be one to look out for at the notorious North Carolina track.
Continuously playing alongside the likes of Morikawa and Scottie Scheffler will only benefit the 25-year-old moving forward.
Big things could be just around the corner.
