Min Woo Lee has opened up on what he learnt after playing alongside Scottie Scheffler at TPC Sawgrass in 2023.

Scheffler landed his first of two consecutive Players Championship titles, securing a five-shot victory over a resurgent Tyrrell Hatton, who carded a seven under par final round.

Lee fell away after starting the final round on 12-under. The Aussie was firmly in contention before a triple bogey seven on the fourth hole.

The 25-year-old has now spoken about the final round and what it was like playing alongside Scheffler.

Speaking to golf journalist Dan Rapaport, Lee has insisted he learnt a lot during his disappointing final round, playing alongside Scheffler.

He said: “It was me and Scottie, yeah. I made par, and he made bogey on three, and then we were even on that hole, and I made a trip. I also learned so much from it.”

The Aussie went on to suggest that he wouldn’t change anything that happened, even his triple bogey on the fourth hole.

“So I don’t want to take it back,” he added. “I still ended up playing really well, and I was pretty proud of myself.”

Min Woo Lee still to properly get going in 2024

Lee is still to properly kickstart his 2024 season.

The Aussie is yet to land his first PGA Tour victory and has managed just one top-ten finish this season, placing second at the Cognizant Classic.

It’s been solid but unremarkable thus far. Two top-25 finishes in the majors provide some cause for optimism, but it’s now about properly competing right at the top of the leaderboard.

Of course, Lee is still early in his PGA Tour career, and all the signs point towards his first victory coming relatively soon.

Hopefully, experiences like the 2023 Players Championship will stand him in good stead the next time he finds himself competing with the world’s best late into the final round.
