LIV Golf star Sergio Garcia has revealed what his playing handicap would be if he wasn’t a professional.
The 2017 Masters winner has enjoyed a solid start to the 2024 LIV Golf season and currently sits 10th in the individual standings.
However, the Spaniard failed to make the cut at Augusta this year after finishing on seven over par after two rounds.
Garcia also faces an agonising wait to find out if his U.S. Open fate. The 44-year-old is currently the first reserve after missing out during qualifying in Dallas.
Sergio Garcia shares his current handicap status

Professionals, of course, don’t have handicaps – however, Garcia has shared a little more insight into what he would be playing off at the moment.
Speaking to Grant Horvat during a match with the YouTube golf star, Garcia said: “I actually have a handicap with my friends.
“My lowest was plus 9.2. At the moment, I am at plus-seven.”
Here are the handicaps for the world’s best golfers
Per a clever piece of research from Golf.Com last year, the world’s best golfers’ handicaps were worked out and here’s what they looked like.
Scottie Scheffler, unsurprisingly, has the lowest handicap with the American play off of +8.4. Jon Rahm was next on at +7.7, and Rory McIlroy off at +6.3.
World number 13 Brooks Koepka also posted a low handicap, with the American’s handicap coming in at +8.2.
Considering the level required even to become a scratch golfer, it’s hard to comprehend just how impressive these players are at the elite level.
Tiger Woods, whilst at his very best, is believed to have had a handicap index of 9.4. Handing nine shots to the course before even teeing off would’ve made life tough for Tiger if he was playing in a club championship!
