The second day at the 2025 Ryder Cup could not have gone much better for Luke Donald and the European team.
Team Europe had a 5.5-2.5 lead after the first day, which was a better start than anyone expected for this highly anticipated event.
Well, the Europeans were even more dominant on Saturday, winning six more points to take an 11.5-4.5 lead into Sunday.
Donald found it hard to believe what he was watching at Bethpage Black, not only from the players but also from the supporters.

Luke Donald reacts to another excellent day for Team Europe
The European team have silenced any doubters over these first two days, most notably the American fans at Bethpage Black.
Donald thoroughly enjoyed listening to the European supporters make more noise than them after play concluded on Saturday evening.
“I didn’t really imagine this,” he said. “The job is not done yet. But to have this stand in New York shouting the oles and most of the cheers coming from our side is incredible.
“Every time the Americans came at us, we came back. Just the resilience these guys have and the confidence they have in themselves and their partners is really, truly incredible.”
However, Donald is keen to ensure that his players do not get complacent despite holding such a significant advantage.
“We are trying to get to 14 and half first, and hopefully we can add to that too,” he continued. “But the job is never done until it’s done.
“I am not going to sit here and be complacent. I know how strong the US are. They had plenty of fight today, our guys had a lot today, too, though.”

Keegan Bradley holds hope despite huge deficit at Ryder Cup
United States captain Keegan Bradley is not only facing a defeat on home soil, but also the biggest ever.
Still, he has not given up hope of producing an epic comeback, referencing the New England Patriots’ victory at Super Bowl LI.
“Really proud of them. They are out there grinding, playing hard. But I’m really proud of the way they fought,” Bradley commented on his team.
“I was at the 2023 Super Bowl when the Patriots came back against the Falcons. I watched it. So tomorrow, who knows!”
The difference is that the Falcons were not as formidable as the European team have been so far, producing an all-time great performance.
