Justin Thomas has made a bright start to his PGA Tour season, but he has also been focusing his efforts on TGL.
Tommy Fleetwood wants a top seed bye in the TGL playoffs, after his Los Angeles were knocked out of the competition by New York Golf Club.
Top-ranked Los Angeles lost 6-4 to fourth seed New York in their TGL semi-final, with third seed Atlanta Drive GC then defeating second seed The Bay Golf Club 9-3.
Thomas played a key role as Atlanta Drive set up a final clash with New York, with the former having beaten the latter 4-0 back in January.
Grant Horvat is expecting a big year for Thomas, who has made the cut in all seven of his PGA Tour starts in 2025.

Justin Thomas says Xander Schauffele is constantly ‘making noise’ on the PGA Tour
Moreover, the two-time major champion has one runner-up finish and three top 10 finishes to his name so far.
But potentially standing in his way of success is fellow American Xander Schauffele, who is expected to play for New York against Atlanta Drive in the TGL final.

Asked in his latest TGL press conference what he’s looking forward to about taking on New York, Thomas replied: “No, I mean, I think it’s going to… Xander is just going to be like that little fly that’s just kind of constantly around your head and making noise.

“And you don’t know if he is talking to you, at you, himself, but he’s just going to be there. And that’s the Xander that we know and love and we’re with every week.
“We always enjoy, whether it’s money games playing with these guys and Xander, or in a Tour event, or next week.
“It will be very enjoyable playing those guys and we look forward to getting an opportunity to get some bragging rights on ’em, for sure.”
Xander Schauffele 2025 PGA Tour results after return from injury
Schauffele has certainly played the role of the joker on the course, which is clearly welcomed by many of his opponents during times of real stress.
And such a relaxed approach has worked wonders for the American, who won the PGA Championship and The Open Championship in 2024.

A rib injury delayed both his PGA Tour and TGL seasons in 2025, but he is now slowly but surely getting back into the swing of things.
Having won twice on the PGA Tour last year, Schauffele has made the cut in his three starts this time around, but has progressively gotten worse.
