Justin Thomas’ performance at the Players Championship last weekend has convinced many golf fans that he is now back to his old self.
Thomas has struggled for form in recent years after making such an impressive start to his career with 15 PGA Tour victories before turning 30.
The American played terribly in the first round at The Players with a six-over-par 78, including a triple bogey on the final hole at TPC Sawgrass.
However, Thomas bounced back with a course record-equalling 62 (-10) in an epic display of determination and finished the tournament in a tie for 33rd place.
He will now look to use his amazing comeback as a springboard for success in 2025.

Grant Horvat expects more from Justin Thomas in 2025
Thomas recently filmed a YouTube video with Grant Horvat at Panther National golf course in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.
Thomas’ performance was impressive then, too, and led to Horvat predicting how the remainder of his season would go.
“I feel like this is your year, watching your game right now,” he said. “Your putting is so solid. Your short game.”
Thomas responded: “I do too. I have gotten off to a decent start and I have been playing well, it’s just getting myself into contention as often as I can.”
Horvat also pointed out one key attribute in Thomas’ favour, which is his clutchness in the closing stages of tournaments.
“That’s the one thing about you, when you are under the gun and you have to close it out like the PGA, you are great when it’s crunch time.”
Justin Thomas has great chance to end winless run at Valspar Championship
It’s hard to believe that two-time PGA Championship winner Justin Thomas has not won on the PGA Tour since the second of those victories in May 2022.
The 31-year-old has really lost his way since then, similar to his good friend Jordan Speith, but it seems that he’s on the way back now.
Thomas has already finished in the top 10 at The American Express, Phoenix Open and Genesis Invitational this season.
Unfortunately, he did not capitalise on his third-round 62 at Sawgrass by contending over the weekend but he’s surely given himself some added confidence ahead of the Valspar Championship.
Thomas could be the pick of a strong field headlined by the likes of Xander Schauffele, Tommy Fleetwood and Shane Lowry.
