The Genesis Invitational is this week! The Golfing Gazette shares all the important information about the event from the TV schedule to payout and much more.

This is the third of eight Signature Events in the 2025 PGA Tour season, with another incredible purse on the line, so the field could not be much better.

The tournament also has a new home this time around that will put the game’s greats, like Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy, to the test.

Here is everything you need to know about the Genesis Invitational 2025 – one of the highlights of the golf calendar.

Everything you need to know about the Genesis Invitational 2025

Genesis Invitational 2025 dates

The Genesis Invitational begins on Thursday, February 13, 2025, and the final round is on Sunday, February 16, 2025. It’s the only PGA Tour event this week.

Where is the Genesis Invitational 2025?

The Genesis Invitational is usually played at the Riviera Country Club in Pacific Palisades. Because of the wildfires in the Los Angeles area, the tournament has been moved to Torrey Pines Golf Course on this occasion.

Which players are in the Genesis Invitational 2025 field?

The Genesis Invitational field is about as good as it gets on the PGA Tour besides the absences of world number two Xander Schauffele through injury and Tiger Woods as he mourns his mother’s passing.

Any event that Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy are involved in is worth watching. Plus, the likes of Collin Morikawa, Justin Thomas and back-in-form Jordan Spieth are also teeing it up at Torrey Pines this week.

What is the Genesis Invitational 2025 prize money?

The prize money at the Genesis Invitational this week is $20 million because it’s one of the PGA Tour’s eight Signature Events. That’s $8m more than in 2022 and over $13m up from 10 years ago.

The event will allocate 20% of the payout to the winner ($4m). The runner-up will receive $2m, while $1.4m will go to the third place.

Genesis Invitational 2025 predictions

The Golfing Gazette writers predict who will lift the Genesis Invitational trophy on Sunday:

Peter Lynch: Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy should prove hard to beat, but I think defending champion Hideki Matsuyama can do exactly that. He produced a stunning comeback last time out, and boasts five top-20 finishes at Torrey Pines, with history firmly on his side this week.

Jordan Harris: Shane Lowry was unlucky to be on the wrong side of the draw at the Farmers Insurance Open earlier this year, and he followed that with a second-place finish at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am. So the Irishman may help the Europeans continue their superb start to the PGA Tour season.

Sam Stone: Daniel Berger played well when the 2021 US Open was held at Torrey Pines, and the American looked in good form at last week’s WM Phoenix Open. Berger’s length could be a big advantage, and if he hits the fairway regularly, I fancy him to compete once more.

James Shearman: Justin Thomas finished second at The Sentry and tied for sixth at last week’s WM Phoenix Open so he’s certainly in good form. I’m predicting the 15-time PGA Tour winner to add the Genesis Invitational to his impressive collection.
