The Sentry 2025 starts on Thursday! The Golfing Gazette tells you everything you should know from the field to prize money and much more.

The new PGA Tour season is finally here and there is no slow start. The Sentry is one of the eight Signature Events this year, excluding the four majors and the Players Championship.

This means that the payout is huge and many of the world’s best golfers, including Xander Schauffele and Collin Morikawa, are in the mix.

PGA Tour fans have waited four months for the marquee tournament, since the Tour Championship, so this is not one to miss. Here is all the important information about The Sentry 2025.

Everything you need to know about The Sentry 2025

The Sentry 2025 dates

The Sentry gets underway on Thursday, January 2, 2025, and the final round is on Sunday, January 5, 2024. It’s the only PGA Tour event this week.

The Sentry takes place on the Plantation Course at Kapalua for the 25th time. The course is known for its picturesque views and low scoring – despite its remarkable length.

Which players are in The Sentry 2025 field?

There are plenty of big names in the field for The Sentry, even though Rory McIlroy and Scottie Scheffler are not involved.

The 60-man list comprises 31 winners in the 2024 PGA Tour season and 29 players in the top 50 in the 2024 FedEx Cup standings.

American trio Xander Schauffele, Justin Thomas and Collin Morikawa are among the favourites to win the tournament in Hawaii.

Plenty of international talent is also teeing it up at Kapalua: Ludvig Aberg, Sungjae Im, Hideki Matsuyama and many more.

The Sentry 2025 payout

The prize money at The Sentry is $20 million. The event will allocate 18% of the total purse to the winner ($3.6m). The runner-up will receive $2.16m, while $1.26m will go to the third place.
