Jon Rahm believes LIV Golf’s prize money structure should be changed ahead of the 2025 season.

Rahm earned a staggered $37.9 million during the 2024 campaign, with $20 million banked at the LIV Individual Championship.

Rahm, however, believes the team aspect of LIV could receive greater financial attention. The LIV Golf Team Championship saw $50 million split between the teams, with $14 million heading to the winners, a figure the Spaniard believes should be more significant.

Speaking to Spanish Podcast Golf Sin Etiquetas, Rahm revealed that he and Sergio Garcia believe the prize money should be focussed on the team aspect of LIV.

“What should happen is to make it more like a football league or whatever, that the tournament is 20 million for the teams and five individually,” Rahm explained.

“Then, what they have to do is that as well as a league in general, the compensation or the annual salary is higher because individually you do not play for so much, but then that is concentrated in the teams. It would be the change that many want, and I think that Sergio and I are two who would say yes.”

Jon Rahm hunts new Legion XIII member ahead of 2025 LIV Golf season

After Kieran Vincent finished inside the LIV Golf drop zone, Rahm is now on the lookout for a replacement ahead of the 2025 season.

John Catlin is a rumoured target after the American posted an image of a Legion XIII hat on his Instagram story whilst at the Black Mountain Championship on the Asian Tour.

Catlin was a reserve for the 2024 season and acted as a replacement for Rahm at the Team Championship after the Spaniard missed out through injury.

There’s also the possibility of a PGA Tour star making a move to LIV. Several big names could be enticed by a big pay cheque during the off-season.
