The inaugural TGL season has now reached its conclusion, with Atlanta Drive GC emerging victorious in Florida.
Atlanta Drive beat New York Golf Club twice in the best-of-three final, having finished third and fourth respectively in the TGL regular season.
Created by Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy, the innovative tournament started back in January, hosted by the SoFi Center.
Neither Woods nor McIlroy made the playoffs with their respective teams, but TGL can certainly be viewed as a big success.
Phil Mickelson wants TGL to succeed, despite the LIV Golf star not being involved given that it comprises PGA Tour players only.

Dream LIV Golf team should be added to TGL next year
Intriguingly, however, TGL has an interest in LIV Golf players, which poses the question of which four players would make such a team if they were included next time out.
There is, of course, a long list of names to choose from, while there is the small matter if the PGA Tour and LIV Golf likely needing to better their relationship before such a scenario can play out in TGL.
But perhaps a handful of icons are currently leading the way for a potential four-man team at this moment in time…
Phil Mickelson
Six-time major champion Mickelson has seemingly been keeping tabs on TGL, and it’s fair to say that he would help raise its profile further if he was to be included.
Given his experience and indeed fantastic honours list, the American would be welcomed with open arms by many within TGL, although Woods may have something to say about that given their interesting history…

Sergio Garcia
Another former high-profile man on the PGA Tour, Sergio Garcia has made a superb start to the 2025 LIV Golf season, and remains a firm favourite by many despite his switch to the other side of the fence.
With one win already, he occupies third place in the individual standings, and like Mickelson is enjoying a new lease of life at this stage of his career.
Jon Rahm
Garcia’s fellow Spaniard Jon Rahm is second in the LIV standings, and like his compatriot boasts a huge following in Europe and indeed America thanks to his many world-class performances over the years, although his PGA Tour exit admittedly didn’t go down well.
Getting in the heads of the opposition is also a huge tool to have in TGL, and the former world number one knows all about that, with Grant Horvat detailing Rahm’s trash-talking during a YouTube video they filmed together recently.

Bryson DeChambeau
And helping that harmony could be Bryson DeChambeau, who would join Mickelson in providing a healthy American-Spanish balance to a potential LIV Golf TGL team.
His golfing CV speaks for itself, but perhaps more beneficial to TGL would be his social media presence, with DeChambeau boasting 1.79 million followers on YouTube thanks to his entertaining endeavours on the course.
