The Hero World Challenge 2024 starts on Thursday! The Golfing Gazette tells you everything you need to know from prize money to tee times and much more.

There have been several events on the PGA Tour in the last few months, including the RSM Classic a fortnight ago, but the fields have generally lacked star quality.

That is no longer the case as many of the world’s best players have turned up to this week’s event, hosted by none other than Tiger Woods.

Scottie Scheffler, Justin Thomas and more are back in action with the 2025 season opener, The Sentry, fast approaching.

Here is all the important information about the Hero World Challenge 2024.

Hero World Challenge predictions

The Golfing Gazette writers predict who they think will lift the Hero World Challenge trophy on Sunday:

Jordan Harris: It just seems impossible to look past Scottie Scheffler retaining his title. While it may not be the most important event on his calendar, the world number one will be hoping to continue his phenomenal record of always finishing in the top two at Albany – and giving himself an ideal boost ahead of The Match.

Peter Lynch: It’s certainly the coward’s way out, but at the same time a very wise option after the year he has just had, so my vote goes to Scottie Scheffler. It will, however, be intriguing to see how the world number one does after such a lengthy spell away from competitive action, although he probably has been hard at work behind the scenes… which is a scary thought for his opponents!

Sam Stone: I am going to go for Justin Thomas. Of course, most will back Scottie Scheffler here but the two-time major winner has been working hard on his game in recent months. Thomas came close at the ZOZO Championship and looked back to his best. He’s sharper than most, and he stands a chance of winning Tiger’s event this weekend.
