Tiger Woods’ Hero World Challenge has typically hosted some of the game’s elite players over the years.
World number one Scottie Scheffler is the main attraction ahead of the 2024 event and is seeking back-to-back titles.
Tournament host Woods won’t feature after undergoing back surgery in September. The 15-time major winner is scheduled to participate in the TGL, which begins in the new year.
Woods has been out on the course, and there’s optimism that he will be fit and healthy soon.
What happened with Tiger Woods and Justin Thomas in 2019

Woods is a five-time winner of the Hero World Challenge, with his most recent victory coming in 2011.
The 48-year-old also finished fourth in the 2019 edition, four shots back of eventual winner, Henrik Stenson.
During the event five years ago, Woods outdrove Justin Thomas on Albany’s firm fairways, and he was quick to let the two-time major champion know about it.
Walking up the fairway, Woods was seen looking at Thomas’ ball and let his compatriot know that he’d outdriven him.
When will Tiger Woods next play again
There’s a slim chance Woods could play at the PNC Championship just before Christmas. The family orientated event would allow him to use a buggy in order to play alongside his son Charlie, as he’s done previously.
However, if Woods isn’t fit, the TGL is likely to be the first time he plays competitively since the 2024 Open Championship at Royal Troon.
Woods’ Jupiter Links GC will feature in week two of the indoor league against Los Angeles Golf Club. If the 15-time major winner comes through the TGL unscathed, there’s every chance he could tee it up at The Genesis Invitational in February, a tournament Woods has typically participated in.
