It remains a fact in golf that when Tiger Woods plays, there are more eyeballs on the game and subsequently, more stories to be talked about and written.
Woods played in the four majors last season but struggled with injuries throughout and it remains to be seen if he’ll make them all again in 2025.
For Woods, the main thing for him now is simply being healthy and putting his body in the sort of condition that will allow him to enjoy life after golf.
Of course, one tournament Woods is always a big name at is the Hero World Challenge, which he hosts to raise money for the Tiger Woods Foundation.
Woods likes to ensure he plays every year but sadly, this time around, Tiger has confirmed he won’t be playing.

Tiger Woods confirms his Hero World Challenge exit with Justin Thomas in line to step in
Taking to social media to confirm the news, Woods has confirmed that this year’s event has come too soon for him in terms of playing.
However, he has confirmed three other big names will be there, as named Justin Thomas, Jason Day and newcomer, Nick Dunlap, as exemptions.
Bad sign for Tiger Woods ahead of 2025?
We don’t know the full extent of the reasoning behind Tiger’s drop out here but the most logical explanation would be related to injury.
Unfortunately, if that is the case, then it’s not the greatest look for Tiger going into 2025.
After The Open, Woods confirmed he wanted to play the Hero but after undergoing yet more surgery, it looks like it has come too soon.
Of course, looking at it from a glass half full perspective, you can argue that Woods is simply getting himself ready and fit for 2025 and not taking any unnecessary risks.
Still, it’s always a sad sight to not see Tiger playing when he should be and as time ticks by and injuries continue to bother him, it does seem like the end is drawing near for Woods and his career.
