The TGL is rapidly approaching, with the inaugural venture from Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy set to get underway in January.
Woods will make his TGL debut on 14 January, with McIlroy expected to begin his tournament shortly after on 27 January.
The TGL has taken a risk with its schedule, with the two main stars at the intriguing contest not involved in the opening week.
Florida’s SoFi Center hosts the competition, which is technology-driven and features six squads of four players each.
Fans will certainly need to take to the TGL in its early stages if indeed it is to be a success, which could prove difficult given the concept.

Many golf fans excited for TGL as image of ‘epic’ screen emerges
The TGL posted a first look at its studio earlier this month, with Justin Thomas and Patrick Cantlay testing out the SoFi Center facilities.
And an image of the giant 53 x 64 foot screen involved has now emerged, with plenty of fans subsequently very excited for the tournament to get started.
“This is awesome,” one fan wrote on X, with others saying: “Can’t freakin wait,” “So stoked for this” and “This is epic.”
Another excited fan commented: “Can’t wait! Curious to see how much they let the fans listen in on the teams. Also wonder how competitive the teams get. Either way, I think it’s great and something different. I’ll be watching.”
Other golf fans sceptical about TGL success
At the same time, however, others were asked if they will be tuning into the TGL after seeing the screen, with many simply responding: “No.”
One sceptical fan commented: “Probably one and done. It better be damn compelling for me to watch again.”

Another said: “Sorry but just doesn’t look interesting to me. I might give it a chance but it’s probably a no,” with another writing: “Hard pass.”
And further cynicism arrived: “Nope will never watch a minute. Sorry, no interest. Simulators are to play but not to watch on TV.”
One certainty is that it is an intriguing idea from Woods and McIlroy, with the PGA Tour duo undoubtedly very eager for a bright start in terms of viewership when the first ball is hit.
