The 2025 PGA Tour season has officially finished, with much of the focus now turning towards 2026.
PGA Tour history was made at The RSM Classic, the final event of the FedExCup Fall season, where Sami Valimaki lifted the trophy.
Many PGA Tour cards have also recently been secured for the 2026 season, ahead of which excitement is already building.
But CEO Brian Rolapp has a lot of work to do between now and the start of the new campaign in order to produce the best product possible.

PGA Tour and Brian Rolapp have simple solution to introduce more variety to golf
Rolapp is learning lessons from the NFL, having only recently played a key role in its rise as the most popular sport in America.
A shorter PGA Tour season is on Rolapp’s agenda, but there is another angle he should at least be considering in order to bring about an improvement.
The PGA Tour and Rolapp should definitely be leaning on match-play tournaments more, which would certainly help bring in more variety.
Do you think the PGA Tour reducing the amount of cards for 2026 to 100 is a good thing?
It may not be for absolutely everyone, but many golf fans would undoubtedly welcome match play events to the schedule.
The World Golf Championships-Dell Technologies Match Play is a prime example, but it last made the calendar in 2023.
A variety of factors will have played a part in its demise, but the growth of television and sponsors worried about a disappointing finale may be near the top of the list.

Ryder Cup drama highlights match play in positive light
There is, of course, one major match play tournament that remains, which brings huge drama and excitement for those watching on and indeed taking part.
Unlike the standard stroke play events on the PGA Tour, the Ryder Cup and indeed Presidents Cup encompass the more rare match play format.
Supporters were just treated to one of the best Ryder Cup events in history at Bethpage Black, where Europe lifted the trophy despite a stunning fightback from the USA.
Do you think LIV Golf players should be allowed to participate at the Ryder Cup moving forward?
Rolapp and the PGA Tour should be doing all they can to help recreate such drama in 2026, particularly with LIV Golf doing their utmost to create their best product.
LIV Golf has switched to 72 holes from its traditional 54, which could help in its bid to be recognised by the Official World Golf Ranking system.
Moreover, Victor Perez has joined LIV Golf, and that could be one of many such switches ahead of next season.
