Three-time DP World Tour winner Victor Perez recently joined LIV Golf from the PGA Tour in one of the biggest moves of the year.

Victor Perez joined LIV Golf after finishing T19 at the US Open this year, helping him to 122nd in the Official World Golf Rankings.

Perez was removed from the PGA Tour’s RSM Classic event, which he was set to play in this week, as a consequence for joining LIV. He clearly would have expected that, and he enters this new chapter of his career.

The Frenchman elected to join Martin Kaymer-led Cleeks GC on LIV Golf, and two of his new teammates spoke about what he brings to the team.

Adrian Meronk reacts to Victor Perez signing with Cleeks GC

Perez joins Polish player Adrian Meronk as a member of Cleeks GC for 2026, and the pair have a prior relationship, having played together on the junior tours. Meronk won LIV Golf Riyadh to start the season and finished 17th in the individual standings.

Meronk, who signed with LIV at the start of 2024, reacted to Perez’s signing. Speaking to Flushing It Golf, he said: “Yeah, I think it’s a great signing. I know Victor quite well. We’ve played a lot of golf together since juniors, he’s a nice guy, steady player, very consistent.

Victor Perez reaction to joining LIV Golf

“Joining Cleeks Golf Club for the 2026 season feels like joining golf’s next great chapter, as this club continues to push boundaries, perform at the highest level, and bring fresh energy and vision to the game.”

“I think it’s going to be a good addition to our team. He will bring more consistency. That’s what we need the most, if you look at the last season. So yeah, I think it’s gonna be much better. So hopefully we can battle for those top three places every week.”

Despite Meronk’s victory to start 2025, Cleeks GC finished second-bottom of the team standings, and Meronk only had two other top 10 finishes on the year. However, Perez was hardly consistent, missing seven cuts on the DP World Tour this season.

Despite that, another new teammate of his is confident that Cleeks can contend in the team standings in 2026.

Richard Bland is confident Cleeks GC can contend after Victor Perez signing

Richard Bland has been on LIV since 2022, and had two top-10 performances in 2025 to put him 27th in the standings.

He thinks Perez is the type of talent that can help Cleeks GC compete for wins in team events next season.

Bland told Flushing It Golf: “Yeah, I think we can really compete this year. I think we know what Adrian’s capable of. Victor’s a great signing. He’s a world-class player.

Which LIV Golf team has the strongest lineup?

“If me and Martin play the way we know we can play, then I think we’re going to be contending for some team titles this year, definitely.”

With the likes of Jon Rahm’s Legion XIII and Bryson DeChambeau’s Crushers GC contending at the top of the leaderboard, it will be difficult for Cleeks to fight for wins. Especially with LIV adopting a 72-hole format next season.

Still, it’s a solid signing for a team that is looking to lift itself away from the bottom of the standings in 2026.
