Xander Schauffele is now finally up and running in his 2025 PGA Tour season, having had the start of it disrupted by injury.
Schauffele posted his highest strokes gained on approach total at the Valspar Championship last week, where he finished T12.
It represents the best finish for Schauffele on the PGA Tour in 2025 so far, with Viktor Hovland having come out on top in Florida.
The schedule continues this week with the Houston Open, where Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy are in the field.
McIlroy is expected to ‘dial in the driver’ at the Houston Open, where there is no Schauffele, who has just finished playing in the TGL final.

Xander Schauffele confirms the Masters as his next tournament
His New York Golf Club lost to Atlanta Drive GC in the best-of-three final, with Schauffele providing an update on his near future during that event on The Rich Eisen Show.
Having been impacted by a rib injury earlier this season, the American has now said: “I am feeling okay. Healthy again.
“Played three weeks in a row off injury. That was a huge bonus. Didn’t play great, had a few glimpses of hope.
“Augusta is my next event. I was still thinking about throwing Valero in there if I needed more reps, but health was my number one priority and now I am just trying to get back to some decent playing form, where I am confident and not thinking so much golf swing and just thinking about getting the ball in the hole. Working on that!”
Xander Schauffele PGA Tour wins as Masters approaches
The nine-time PGA Tour winner may still tune in to some coverage throughout this week, where his rivals Scheffler and McIlroy will be trying to fine-tune their games for the Masters.
Like Schauffele, world number one Scheffler was heavily impacted by injury not too long ago, having undergone hand surgery over the festive period.

McIlroy meanwhile is very much the man in form, with the four-time major winner triumphing at the Players Championship earlier this month.
Immediately after Houston, the PGA Tour welcomes the Valero Texas Open, with the Masters returning to Augusta in early April.
| Year | Wins | Tournaments |

| 2019 | 1 | Sentry Tournament of Champions |

Scheffler won the Masters for a second time last year, with Schauffele and McIlroy finishing eighth and T22 respectively.
With no appearance until Augusta for Schauffele, he will enter the major championship with four cuts made from his four events, with one top 25 finish to his name.
