Wyndham Clark broke the Pebble Beach course record 12 months ago. The former US Open winner anticipates a much sterner test at his year’s AT&T Pro-Am.

Clark’s final round 60 (12 under) saw him fly up the leaderboard and eventually secure a one-shot victory over Ludvig Aberg.

Last year, the tournament was reduced to 54 holes after stormy conditions battered the Monterey Peninsula. During the final round, Clark took advantage of the softer fairways and greens to card his record-breaking score. However, Pebble Beach could prove a very different beast during the 2025 AT&T Pro-Am.

With dry weather impacting most of California, firmer greens and fast fairways could result in higher scoring – and that’s certainly a view shared by Clark.

Speaking during his pre-tournament press conference, Clark admitted that if the weather remains the same, scoring will likely be higher.

“It’s a lot firmer than last year. It’s in amazing shape. Last year, we had tons of rain leading up to it, and during the week, it played its traditional very soft and slow and bumpy,” Clark said.

“These last couple days we’ve been practicing here, the ball’s bouncing quite a bit, the greens are a lot faster, it’s firmer. So if the weather stays like this, I actually think it will be tougher this year. I think the scores won’t maybe be as slow.”

Wyndham Clark’s 2025 PGA Tour record

After suffering a nightmare run of form through the middle of 2024, Clark finished the season well and now appears to be edging his way back into form.

The six-time PGA Tour winner finished 21 under at The Sentry (T15) after carding rounds of 69-64-69-69. However, at last week’s American Express, Clark missed the 54-hole cut after finishing five under for the tournament.

With The Players Championship and Masters Tournament fast approaching, Clark will be looking to rediscover his early 2024 form on the Monterey Peninsula. If he performs half as well as he did last year, he could stand a chance of competing.
