Wyndham Clark’s torrid major championship form continued after he carded an 80 to finish on 16 over at The Open Championship.
The American made two double bogeys and one triple on Friday to finish near the foot of the field and below Tiger Woods.
Despite his poor form, Clark is set to represent the USA at the Paris Olympics in just a matter of days, and American fans aren’t pleased with his inclusion.
At Royal Troon, the low point of the 30-year-old’s round came on the par-four 15th – and even the cameras failed to pick it up.
Wyndham Clark’s shocking 15th hole at The Open Championship

After smashing a wayward drive into the native area, Clark was left with an interesting second shot from the long grass.
However, the American failed to advance his approach more than two yards, leading to another bogey.
Unfortunately for the 2023 US Open winner, the incident was captured by a fan and has since been posted all over social media for the golfing world to criticise.
Tough luck, Wyndham.
Wyndham Clark’s disappointing major championship record
Clark’s poor form deserves to be picked apart, as he’s currently ranked the fifth-best golfer on the planet.
And, quite remarkably, the American’s record in the major championships is beyond bad. At the Masters, he has only made one appearance but failed to make the cut.
Clark has featured four times at the PGA Championship, making the weekend once. Of course, he won the US Open in 2023 but has only made the cut twice in the year’s toughest major.
Finally, at The Open, the 30-year-old has played three times and made the weekend twice. Overall, Clark has made the cut five times at majors during his career.
Given his form and overall record in the biggest events, USA fans’ concerns over Clark are justified at this point.
