Tony Finau looks set to become one of LIV Golf’s latest high-profile additions after speculation emerged over the weekend about the six-time PGA Tour winner.

Rumours suggest Finau’s LIV Golf move is “done”, and he has since pulled out of the Hero World Challenge, which gets underway on Thursday.

The US Presidents Cup star is yet to confirm or deny the rumours, although Finau’s wife posted a cryptic TikTok video on Tuesday, which further raised suspicions.

All signs point toward the Salt Lake City native ending his PGA Tour career and heading to LIV. Finau, however, won’t be starting a new team on the Saudi-backed venture.

Red Harrington, who is in the LIV Golf loop, has revealed that Finau will join an existing team.

“Any post you see of Tony getting his own team is completely made up. Just FY,” he wrote on X.

So, with Finau set to join a team, who exactly could the soon-to-be LIV man join ahead of the 2025 season starting in February?

Which LIV Golf team is Tony Finau most likely to join?

The most obvious move for Finau would be to join Jon Rahm’s Legion XIII. The Spaniard is on the lookout for a recruit after Kieran Vincent’s exit. Rahm and Finau are good friends, so there’s certainly potential for this move to happen. Finau replacing Vincent would make Legion XIII hard to beat.

Another team that potentially needs reinforcements is the RangeGoats. Bubba Watson is battling for his LIV future after finishing in the relegation zone last season. Finau coming in for the two-time Masters winner could make sense.

Finally, Finau teaming up with Brooks Koepka and Smash GC also has potential. Finau played alongside Koepka at the 2018 Ryder Cup, and the pair were good friends during their PGA Tour days.

If their relationship is still strong, Finau replacing one of Smash’s weaker players could well be on the cards.
