Scottie Scheffler and Shane Lowry endured very different PGA Championship experiences, with the former winning as the latter missed the cut.
Bubba Watson has praised Scheffler after seeing him win the PGA Championship, where he triumphed by five shots.
Scheffler finished his four rounds at Quail Hollow on 11-under, followed by Bryson DeChambeau, Davis Riley and Harris English on six-under.
The title immediately followed his first win of the season at THE CJ CUP Byron Nelson, which he won by eight shots.
Scheffler now turns his focus to the Charles Schwab Challenge, headlining the field for the latest PGA Tour event of 2025.

What Shane Lowry said about Scottie Scheffler last year
Colonial Country Club plays host to the tournament, but before that, Claude Harmon has been focusing on the scenario that played out at Quail Hollow.
Speaking of Scheffler on the Son of a Butch podcast, Harmon said: “DJ (Dustin Johnson) played a practice round with him and Gary Woodland on Monday [before the PGA Championship] and it’s impressive without being impressive.

“I don’t think he gets enough credit for how well he hits driver, I don’t think he gets enough credit for how long he is, I don’t think his short game gets enough credit.
“When you watch him I think because the feet are all over the place. He almost fell down three times. On 15 he hit it on the slope on the par five on Monday, the ball was a little above his feet, and he hit his beautiful, high draw in there and almost fell over.
“But Shane Lowry said to me last year that he is impressive without being impressive. But the numbers are a joke how good they are.”
Scottie Scheffler key 2025 PGA Tour stats after PGA Championship success
Scheffler has endured a slow start to his 2025 season, but only because of the phenomenal standards he set himself last time out.
Moreover, the world number one also needed surgery on his hand after an accident over the festive period.

But even that hasn’t stopped him from shining this season, with two wins now secured after he clinched seven titles in 2024, including The Masters and the Players Championship.
Lowry tried to copy Rory McIlroy and Justin Thomas when he first arrived on the PGA Tour, but it is now Scheffler who he should be trying to follow in the footsteps of.

Emulating even a shred of his skill and work rate will, however, be a very tricky challenge for his fellow professionals.
Another win at the Charles Schwab this week is a real possibility, but it remains to be seen whether he can reach those stunning heights that he did last year.
