Shane Lowry failed to take his good form on the PGA Tour into the PGA Championship, where he missed the cut.
Lowry has two runner-up finishes and four top 10s on the PGA Tour this season, but he failed to make the weekend at Quail Hollow.
The 2019 Open champion carded rounds of 73 and 71 to finish on two-over, with the cut line having been set at one-over.
Lowry was left really annoyed by a reporter during the second round of the PGA Championship, having been denied relief for an embedded ball on the eighth hole.
World number one Scottie Scheffler went on to win at Quail Hollow, clinching his third major championship success.

How Shane Lowry wanted to copy Rory McIlroy and Justin Thomas
He quickly turns his focus to the Charles Schwab Challenge, with Lowry having been sharing insight into his career with the PGA Tour’s social media channels.
Asked if he ever expected to be where he is today, the Irishman responded: “Oh, God, never really thought about it too much along the way.
“I’ve just kind of tried to work as hard as I can and do my thing week-to-week, day-to-day, and see how it goes.”
And when asked what’s been the biggest thing that he had to step up performance-wise in his game to reach such heights, Lowry replied: “When I moved to Florida, pretty much in like 2015, I got my PGA Tour card, started coming over, spending time down in Jupiter and you know, I get to the range every day, and all of a sudden Rory [McIlroy] and JT (Justin Thomas) and all these top players in the world, they were all there.
“And they’re all there all day, every day. And I’m like, these guys are doing it, I have to be doing it. So there’s been a lot of moving parts over the years but I think I’ve figured it out pretty well.”
Shane Lowry shares what his relationship is like with fellow PGA Tour player Tommy Fleetwood
Lowry also sat down with fellow PGA Tour player Tommy Fleetwood, with the duo having formed a close bond over the years.
The Englishman did manage to make the cut at the PGA Championship, finishing T41 on two-over at Quail Hollow.
While Lowry is a three-time winner on the PGA Tour, Fleetwood has remarkably yet to taste such success.
Discussing their friendship both on and off the course, the Irishman commented: “I’ve known Tommy a long time.

“Obviously growing up playing in Europe, and we’ve been sharing this house now for the last four years. Just being around each other and our kids.
“There’s not many people… there’s a few people that when you’re out on tour and you see them doing well, Tommy’s one of those guys that I’m happy to see him do well you know.”
| Year | Wins | Tournament |

Emulating the likes of McIlroy and Thomas meanwhile may still be on Lowry’s agenda despite his own success.
The Northern Irishman just won his fifth major tournament at The Masters, while the American is a two-time major champion.
