Scottie Scheffler has continued his phenomenal career by emerging victorious at the PGA Championship at Quail Hollow.
Scheffler has been backed to complete the career grand slam, having just won his maiden PGA Championship title.
It follows his double success at The Masters in 2022 and 2024, with Scheffler now boasting 15 PGA Tour wins.
Scheffler has drawn comparisons to Tiger Woods after his victory at Quail Hollow, where he won by five shots.
It represents his second PGA Tour success of 2025, after the world number one won THE CJ CUP Byron Nelson by eight shots.

Bubba Watson says if he thinks Scottie Scheffler can become the best golfer of all time
His success has now been analysed by his fellow professional Bubba Watson, who left the PGA Tour for LIV Golf in 2022.
Speaking on The Pat McAfee Show, Watson said of Scheffler: “First of all he has only been around, what, four years as a pro?
“He has 16, 12 or 18 wins – whatever he has got. He is getting there to the GOAT status. He is gaining on it.
“But he still has a long way to go. I think his year last year when you count even the event he had in Vegas. Nine wins.
| Year | Wins | Tournaments |
| 2025 | 5 | BMW Championship The Open Championship the Memorial Tournament PGA Championship THE CJ CUP Byron Nelson |
| 2024 | 7 | Tour Championship Travelers Championship the Memorial Tournament RBC Heritage The Masters The Players Championship Arnold Palmer Invitational |
| 2023 | 2 | The Players Championship WM Phoenix Open |
| 2022 | 4 | The Masters World Golf Championships-Dell Technologies Match Play Arnold Palmer Invitational WM Phoenix Open |
“I think that is the best year that we have ever seen as a golfer, with the competition around the world now. The world is playing.
“So I think he is definitely on his way to GOAT status but he still has a long way to go. You have got to get to 80 somewhat wins.”
Bubba Watson suggests why PGA Championship winner Scottie Scheffler is so good
American star Scheffler is truly a one-of-a-kind golfer, and has really set the bar extremely high in recent seasons.
The world number one doesn’t look like slowing down anytime soon, with another major success at the US Open next month certainly on the cards.
He is, however, still a long, long way away from replicating the success that the likes of Jack Nicklaus and Tiger Woods have achieved.
Nicklaus has 18 major wins as part of his 73 PGA Tour wins, with Woods’s figures sitting at 15 and 82 respectively.
But Scheffler won’t be thinking about those totals whatsoever, with his game and his game only on his mind right now.
| Position | Player | Score | To par |
| 1 | Scottie Scheffler | 69-68-65-71=273 | −11 |
| T2 | Bryson DeChambeau | 71-68-69-70=278 | −6 |
| Harris English | 72-70-71-65=278 | ||
| Davis Riley | 71-68-67-72=278 | ||
| T5 | Taylor Pendrith | 69-70-72-68=279 | −5 |
| J. T. Poston | 68-70-68-73=279 | ||
| Jhonattan Vegas | 64-70-73-72=279 |
Asked why he thinks Scheffler is so good, two-time major champion Watson commented: “He trusts himself.
“He is only focused on golf. He has a great man on the bag, Teddy [Scott], who caddied for me for 15 years and then he believes in himself.
“He putts unbelievable. But his ball striking, he is swaying on the ball and doing all this stuff but he knows what his golf swing is.
“He knows what he wants to do. He is playing boring golf, so his heart rate is staying right here [steady] even under pressure.”
