LIV Golf faces a crucially important few months for its future in the golfing world.

Some of its biggest stars, such as Bryson DeChambeau, have contracts that expire at the end of the 2026 season, and after the PGA Tour’s successes in 2025, questions have been raised about whether they plan to re-sign with LIV.

Far more than the PGA Tour, LIV Golf relies on its star power. It has little history and traditions, as well as iconic championships or courses. Instead, it has some of the most engaging personalities in the sport, such as DeChambeau and Phil Mickelson, who they hope can draw eyeballs.

So the potential of DeChambeau leaving in 2026 is an existential threat for LIV. His popularity at the Ryder Cup shows just how much of a draw the American star has become since the rise of his immensely popular YouTube channel.

“Multiple insiders” have revealed what DeChambeau is likely to do regarding his future on LIV, as his contract expiration nears.

The date Bryson DeChambeau is expected to re-sign with LIV Golf

Insiders have revealed that DeChambeau plans to re-sign with LIV Golf early, and there is a date that the two parties are targeting to have a deal agreed by.

Flushing It posted to X, “Bryson DeChambeau is in talks with LIV Golf to renew his contract early.

“His current deal runs through the end of next year, but multiple sources say both parties are hoping to get new terms agreed before the 2026 league opener in Riyadh.”

The 2026 LIV Golf season begins in Saudi Arabia’s capital city, Riyadh, on February 5, so we can expect some news before then if DeChambeau and LIV can agree on a deal as quickly as they hope.

This is welcome news for the tour, which has faced rampant speculation about its players wanting to jump ship. And with DeChambeau and Dustin Johnson re-signed, expect more to follow. Not just re-signings for LIV, but signings from the PGA Tour.

Players rumoured to be joining LIV Golf in 2026

Reports have circulated that former PGA Tour winners are considering joining LIV, sparking speculation that a big name is about to make a shocking announcement.

The last player to make the move that truly made the ground shake was Jon Rahm. The two-time major winner joined the tour on a deal reported to be around $300 million, after Rahm was previously critical of LIV

So which players could join LIV? Rory McIlroy and Scottie Scheffler are the only two names that could create the same impact as Rahm, and those two superstars are not reported to be seeking a move.

Aldrich Potgieter also confirmed he wouldn’t be joining LIV after his name was mentioned in connection with it.

So who could those former winners be? Jason Day is an intriguing candidate for LIV. The 37-year-old has won 13 times on the PGA Tour and is exactly the type of candidate that is likely to move in the twilight of his career.

Fellow Australian Min Woo Lee would bring a sizeable draw as an immensely popular figure, making him an attractive signing.

Only time will tell, but now the first big domino is set to fall with DeChambeau’s re-signing. Expect more to follow.
