Scottie Scheffler finds himself in contention at the PGA Championship heading into the weekend at Quail Hollow.
Scheffler is T5 in the leaderboard after two rounds of the PGA Championship, where he sits on five-under.
He joins fellow American Max Homa on that score after carding rounds of 69 and 68 on Thursday and Friday respectively.
Homa praised Scheffler’s swing after his second round at Quail Hollow, where he shot 64 after a first round 73.
The pair are one shot behind trio Matthieu Pavon, Matt Fitzpatrick and Si Woo Kim, with Jhonattan Vegas out in front on eight-under.

Wesley Bryan predicts PGA Championship win for Scottie Scheffler after seeing practice footage
But according to Wesley Bryan, that is a lead that world number one Scheffler is going to overcome over the weekend.
Bryan, a one-time winner on the PGA Tour, made the prediction having watched footage of a new practice drill from Scheffler after his second round.
Commenting on the hip-focused practice routine from North Carolina, Bryan wrote on X: “Scottie is on to something!
“If you think about your left hip at Quail Hollow it leads to something special. He literally just won the golf tournament. Mark my words.”
Scottie Scheffler in perfect position to finish strong at the PGA Championship
Scheffler certainly hasn’t had it all his way at Quail Hollow this week, with that verdict also true of his season overall.
He was, however, delayed in coming back to the PGA Tour after undergoing hand surgery following a glass accident over the festive period.
But he did manage to make a very impressive return, with Scheffler finding form right before the PGA Championship, with a strong finish now expected in North Carolina.
After a long run of strong performances, the world number one emerged victorious at The CJ Cup Byron Nelson earlier this month.
From his nine PGA Tour starts heading into the PGA Championship, he boasts one win and one runner-up finish.
The two-time major champion also has six top 10 finishes, with nine of nine cuts made, having finished fourth at The Masters last month.
| Year | Tournament | 54 holes | Score | Margin |
| 2022 | The Masters | 3 shot lead | −10 (69-67-71-71=278) | 3 strokes |
| 2024 | The Masters | 1 shot lead | −11 (66-72-71-68=277) | 4 strokes |
His latest practice efforts at Quail Hollow are certainly interesting to watch, with the American showing he is willing to try new drills in order to achieve success.
And as Bryan mentioned, such innovativeness may just be the key to winning on Sunday, with the course proving to be a tricky test given the heavy rainfall earlier in the week.
