Bryson DeChambeau and Max Homa were among the early finishers on day two of the PGA Championship, with both taking on media duties shortly after leaving the course.

Homa enjoyed a huge rise up the PGA Championship leaderboard, with the PGA Tour player carding a seven-under 64.

His LIV Golf counterpart DeChambeau carded a three-under 68, which followed a first round 71 to leave him three-under par.

Homa meanwhile posted 73 on Thursday to record a score of five-under from his first and second rounds.

As ever, he offered a detailed analysis after his latest round on the course, with Homa labelled a great explainer of things regarding the game of golf.

Bryson DeChambeau praises Max Homa for transparency at the PGA Championship

“I mean, look, I think it’s… I think… I think it’s important the way it’s presented. Coming from a lighthearted position, sometimes the openness can be scary, and I commend Max for being that way, and I think people should respect him for that.

“I was very much like that early on. I’m a little more kind of focused on what I’m going to say, what I intend to say now, but I think it’s great that you… the more players that we can have that are more open out here, I think that’s only going to benefit the game of golf.

“I think once you see how much good we actually can do for the game and what we’re trying to do for the game, I hope people can see that for the light that it is.

“I commend Max for doing that. For me, I mean, yeah, you can say there’s been times where I’ve been too open, and now it’s a matter of just showing more of just who I am.”

Both Rory McIlroy and Shane Lowry have recently opted against speaking to the media after rounds, and their stance doesn’t look like changing anytime soon.

The PGA Tour duo won’t be losing any sleep over the issue, with both having really impressed in recent tournaments.

Lowry has come agonisingly close to further success, while McIlroy only just emerged victorious at The Masters.

DeChambeau meanwhile is certainly in no danger of representing a closed book, with the LIV Golf star working wonders for the game at this moment in time, both with his performances and his undertakings on social media.
