Tiger Woods steps up his recovery this weekend as the PNC Championship takes centre stage at the Ritz-Carlton Golf Club in Orlando.
Woods’ latest surgery in September meant the Hero World Challenge in the Bahamas came too soon for the 15-time major winner.
However, Woods has been spotted swinging freely and will take to the course with his son Charlie over the next two days.
The golfing world will be hoping Woods’ latest recovery puts him in a position where he can compete more regularly when the 2025 PGA Tour season gets underway.
Fred Couples and Tiger Woods reunite at the PNC Championship

With the PNC Championship very much a family-orientated affair, some of golf’s legendary names have made the trip to Orlando.
Among them is 1992 Masters champion Fred Couples, and Woods was delighted to catch up with the 65-year-old on Friday morning.
“Old friends reuniting,” wrote the PGA Tour’s official account. “A special moment between Tiger Woods and Fred Couples.”
What’s next for Tiger Woods after the PNC Championship?
Once the PNC Championship concludes, Woods’ attention will turn to the TGL. Tiger’s first game is in the second week of January as Jupiter Links Golf Club takes on The Bay GC at the innovative SoFi Arena in Palm Beach.
The TGL could actually prove the ideal stage for Woods to return to full fitness. The 15-time major winner will be able to sharpen his game against the best in the world whilst reducing stress on his body.
Over the last five years, the main issue for Woods has centred around making it around 72 holes. If he can deal with four rounds of tournament golf once a month, there’s a realistic chance he could get back to at least competing and making cuts on the PGA Tour.
