Whatever golf fans think of Tyrrell Hatton, it cannot be denied that the LIV Golf star makes the game much more interesting with some of his behaviour out on the course.
Of course, Tyrrell Hatton is one of the best players in the world right now. But there is perhaps another aspect of his game which the Englishman is better known for.
The 33-year-old is never one to hide his feelings on the golf course. Hatton slammed the 18th hole before even hitting his approach on Thursday at the DP World Tour Championship. Meanwhile, Hatton was labelled a ‘terrible influence’ after snapping his club on the par five 14th during his third round on Saturday.
What Tyrrell Hatton wrote on his glove ahead of the final round of the DP World Tour Championship
Unsurprisingly, plenty of golf fans were not impressed by Hatton’s actions over the week. And the DP World Tour has confirmed that he will be fined for his actions at the event.
Hatton is incredibly popular behind the scenes, so it is probably no surprise that he responded to the criticism with a message, seemingly written to himself, on his golf glove on Sunday.

Hatton had written the words: ‘Be nice’. It is hard to imagine that he will have taken too much notice of the message had the frustrations boiled over at any point during the subsequent round.
The Hatton dilemma
Obviously, it is not a good look when top players are snapping clubs after hitting poor shots towards the end of the third round. It was not a disastrous strike by any means – and Hatton did go on to chip in on that same hole.
However, there is a line where the criticism also goes too far. Golf benefits from having characters such as Hatton. And the DP World Tour will be particularly grateful that he has decided to play several events at this time of the year.
Fans want to see what Hatton will do next, knowing that he has the ability to be one of the best players on the planet right now. And while the DP World Tour cannot be seen to embrace the bad behaviour, they will surely recognise that his antics definitely have some benefits.
