Tyrrell Hatton can certainly hold his head high after his first season at LIV Golf, having finished fourth in the Individual Championship.

Hatton thinks LIV is easier for younger players, with his Legion XIII finishing fourth in the LIV Golf Dallas Team Championship.

The Englishman led the way for his side, who were without captain Jon Rahm in the season finale due to illness.

Golf fans weren’t happy with Rahm, who was replaced by John Catlin, who incidentally was the only Legion XII player to lose his match.

After finishing second in the LIV Golf regular season behind Crushers GC, Legion XIII were awarded a bye to the semi-finals in Dallas.

There, they overcame HyFlyers GC 3-1, with Hatton beating Andy Ogletree as Caleb Surratt and Kieran Vincent beat Phil Mickelson and Brendan Steele in the foursomes.

But fourth place was their final finish in Dallas, with Cameron Smith’s Ripper GC clinching the ultimate prize.

Legion XIII’s Hatton has now looked back on his season as a whole, saying in his final press conference in Dallas: “Yeah, it’s been good. Yeah, it was nice to win again as an individual.

“I think it would have been a nice way to finish the year doing better this week, but it’s been an interesting year, some new experiences, and yeah, we look forward to next year.”

Hatton didn’t get off to the best of starts in 2024 after leaving the PGA Tour for the rival tour in January, but recovered superbly for a strong finish to the individual season.

He clinched his first title at LIV Golf Nashville, and followed that up by finishing third and T2 at LIV Golf Andalucia and LIV Golf UK respectively.

Sergio Garcia then pipped him to the final podium spot thanks to his T2 finish in Chicago, with Hatton finishing in fourth place.

Just one point separated the pair in the Individual Championship, with the latter’s teammate Rahm lifting the trophy.

Hatton then had to settle for a fourth-place finish in the team event, but he can be proud of his final round four-under 68, the joint-lowest score with Smith in the top tier.
