Tyrrell Hatton will consider his move to LIV Golf as a success so far but the Englishman has been looking back to his initial signing and admitted he was pretty nervous.
Hatton moved to LIV for a reported $60m contract and was immediately put in Jon Rahm’s Legion XIII team.
In the end, Legion XIII couldn’t manage the team win but Rahm won the individual event, while Hatton came fourth in a very good first season.
In the majors, Hatton didn’t really get near winning and in the DP World Tour Championship, Hatton was slammed for his petulant behaviour.
However, none of that behaviour can be put down to frustration over his LIV move, even though Hatton has admitted to being a bit scared about his future initially.

Tyrrell Hatton admits he was worried about his LIV Golf move
Speaking to the Daily Mail about his eventual move to LIV, Hatton spoke openly about his worries on the move.
However, he admits things changed in the winter, albeit he still had some reservations even after signing his contract.
“It’s been a good year,” Hatton said. “It’s been very different from what I’ve known and it also brought uncertainties, because if I didn’t play well, I knew there was a possibility I wouldn’t be in the majors in 2025. That was a scary thought.
“It was a big decision. I’d said no initially in December and then during the Dubai Desert Classic (in January) everything flipped. My head was a bit all over the place and it was a weird time.
“Like I said, it was a bit scary, thinking of what you are risking, but honestly, looking back a year on, it has been great how it has played out.”
Tyrrell Hatton can win big but has to get on top of his behaviour
The one thing Hatton gets away with on the LIV tour is being able to swear away on the course with limited repercussions.
Hatton was labelled a bad example by Ewan Murray and while he can do it on LIV, it’s becoming a big feature of Hatton’s game.
Indeed, we detailed golf’s biggest meltdowns and while we all love Hatton’s passion, he has to get on top of things in order to get over the line in the majors.
With The Open at Royal Portrush and the Ryder Cup to come, it feels a big year for Tyrrell Hatton but if he is to win, he simply has to stay focussed and not let outside issues bother him.
