Tom McKibbin has the chance to close in on a PGA Tour card for the 2025 season with a strong display at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship.
St Andrews hosts the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship this week, with a very strong field involved on the Old Course.
Multiple major champions Brooks Koepka and Jon Rahm are both playing at the DP World Tour event in Scotland.
McKibbin’s compatriot Rory McIlroy is also involved, with prize money of $5million available at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship.
The former is not only eyeing silverware at St Andrews, but also the opportunity to play regularly on the PGA Tour.

“It’s been a very good year, a very solid year, a lot of top 10s, a lot of consistency,” he told BBC Sport Northern Ireland. “I’ve been happy with it so far, I just have to push on until the end of the year.
“Got to focus on these last five events, there are a lot of points at stake and you can move around a lot so I’ve got to keep concentrated and just try and finish the year as best as I can.
“Going into these last five events I’d love to get my hands on another trophy but it’s so competitive it’s hard to win anywhere.”
Can Tom McKibbin continue his impressive rise at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship?
McKibbin clinched his first DP World Tour title in June 2023 at the European Open, while this year he entered the world’s top 100 for the first time.
He now has five tournaments left to push through his PGA Tour dreams, having just finished T10 at the BMW PGA Championship.
The Alfred Dunhill Links Championship is up first on his agenda, with the 21-year-old completing his campaign at the DP World Tour Championship in November.
McKibbin did miss the cut at the Scottish Open this year, but can be very proud of his T41 and T66 finishes at the US Open and The Open respectively.
The youngster has already proven himself to many of the world’s best, but he must keep his feet on the ground at this crucial stage of his career.
