After a thrilling week at the BMW PGA Championship, six events remain before the 2024 DP World Tour concludes at Jumeirah Golf Estates in Dubai.
Rory McIlroy currently leads the ‘Race to Dubai’ standings with PGA Tour stars Billy Horschel and Robert MacIntyre in close pursuit.
Horschel made history at Wentworth, becoming the first American to claim two BMW PGA Championship titles. For McIlory, it was yet more heartache after finishing second in the Irish Open at Royal County Down the week prior.
However, it’s not just the big names to look out for as the season draws to a close. There are ten spots on the PGA Tour up for grabs for those not already exempt. Here, The Golfing Gazette reveals the ten DP World Tour players on track to earn PGA Tour cards in 2025.

1. Thriston Lawrence
27-year-old Thriston Lawrence was leading for large parts at Wentworth but dropped out after the first playoff hole. The South African is currently the number one ranked player not already excempt.
Lawrence has four DP World Tour wins and is ranked 47th in the world.
2. Rasmus Hojgaard
Five-time DP World Tour winner Rasmus Hojgaard is also on track to make the move to the PGA Tour after winning the Irish Open at Royal County Down.
The Dane is currently ranked 62nd in the world and has banked over $2 million in 2024.
3. Matteo Manassero
Matteo Manassero has bounced back into form after enduring several challenging years. The 31-year-old has played 25 tournaments in 2024, making 16 cuts.
The Italian has won once and finished T4 at the BMW PGA Championship after leading and heading into Sunday’s final round.
4. Jesper Svensson
Swede Jesper Svensson is fourth in the rankings but must improve after his recent performances at the Omega European Masters and BMW PGA Championship.
Svensson missed the cut in both and will be aware that his form must improve to earn a spot on the PGA Tour next season.
5. Niklas Norgaard
Niklas Norgaard is currently fifth in the rankings after winning the Betfred British Masters at the Belfry. The Dane also finished T7 at the BMW and looks on track to earn a spot Stateside next season.
6. Sebastian Soderberg
Another Swede, Sebastian Soderberg, is also on course to finish inside the DP World Tour top ten. The one-time tour winner has been winless since 2019 but has still managed five top-five finishes in 2024.
With nearly $1 million in the bank, Soderberg making the PGA Tour would cap what has been an impressive 2024 season.
7. Rikuya Hoshino
Japanese star Rikuya Hoshino is next up. The 28-year-old won the Qatar Masters and stands a strong chance of ending his season inside the top ten.
Hoshino is in good form and hasn’t missed a cut since The Open Championship at Royal Troon.

8. Tom McKibbin
Northern Irishman Tom McKibbin was thrust into the limelight whilst playing alongside McIlroy at the Irish Open. McIlroy was delighted McKibbin made the cut, and the 21-year-old now must finish the season strong if he’s to play on the PGA Tour next season.
McKibbin finished T10 at last week’s BMW PGA Championship.
9. Romain Langasque
Romain Langasque is ninth and will be one of the first to drop out of the current standings if his form doesn’t improve.
The Frenchman has missed his last three cuts.
10. Guido Migliozzi
Italian Guido Migliozzi occupies the final spot. The 27-year-old didn’t make the weekend at Wentworth and will need a solid end to the season to cement his current position.
