Tom Kim has outlined three big changes he’s made recently after really struggling at the start of the 2024 PGA Tour season.
The Korean is looking to bounce back from his disappointing play-off loss to close friend Scottie Scheffler at the Travelers Championship.
Kim is one of the highest-ranked players competing in this week’s Rocket Mortgage Classic at Detroit Golf Club in his ninth consecutive event.
The 22-year-old will be hoping to go one better this week on a course that he’s described as very rare on the PGA Tour.

After a slow start to the 2024 season, Kim has shared improvements he’s made physically, mentally, and with course management, which have massively helped his uplift in form.
“The mechanic part was the big thing. Kind of getting my body ready for under pressure tournaments, and obviously, the mental aspect getting a little sharper,” Kim told the Golf Channel.
The 22-year-old added: “With course management, it’s knowing when to pick and choose when to go for pins and not. I think at the start of the year, I kind of struggled with that, and to bring it kind of back, see this stretch and add things each week and keep riding the momentum has been big for me.”
Tom Kim showing no signs of fatigue after nine-week PGA Tour stretch
This week’s event in Detroit will be Kim’s ninth consecutive PGA Tour outing – and the Korean is showing no sign of fatigue.
Perhaps his tender age is playing a part, but the 22-year-old’s uplift in form whilst playing regularly is commendable.
Kim will certainly fancy his chances of making a charge for the Rocket Mortgage Classic title this week.
With several big players taking time off ahead of a busy stretch in July, the 22-year-old could look to take advantage of what is a weakened field in Michigan.
Furthermore, the Korean has the chance to massively improve his current FedEx Cup standings ahead of playoff season, which gets underway at the St. Jude Championship at the start of August.
