Tom Kim failed to get the win at the Genesis Championship in South Korea this weekend but that’s only been half the story of his weekend back home.

Kim saw fellow Presidents Cup star and home favourite Byeong Hun An win the tournament, as Kim saw his putt lip out on the 18th before losing in a playoff.

However, while Kim was frustrated to lose but at the same time happy for An to get the win, things seemed to boil over in the locker room a bit.

Kim has had to apologise already after images emerged of damage to a locker inside the changing room as the PGA Tour star apparently lost his cool afterwards.

Since the incident, there’s been talk of a response from the DP World Tour and even suggestions of a fine or suspension being given.

But now, Kim has broken his silence on the matter and it looks like things are calmer than first though.

Tom Kim is an emotional player and he’ll learn from this

At the end of the day, golf is an individual sport where the ultimate aim is to simply win golf tournaments.

Clearly for Tom Kim, the emotions got the better of him and he’s simply acted on instinct to cause a bit of a scene at the end of the tournament.

We saw how Kim was emotionally charged during the Presidents Cup with Scottie Scheffler and it’s very much just part of his personality it seems.

Going forward, though, Kim will learn from the experience and move on with little harm done.
