Patrick Cantlay will perhaps already be looking towards next season after a mixed time on the PGA Tour in 2024.
Cantlay did help the US Team win the Presidents Cup, with the visitors beating the International Team last month.
Dan Rapaport named Cantlay the MVP at Royal Montreal Golf Club, with the American posting a superb 4-1-0 record.
His teammates Xander Schauffele and Collin Morikawa posted the same records as the US Team won 18.5-11.5.
But in terms of his individual efforts on the PGA Tour, Cantlay will be planning a stronger season next time out.

How much time Patrick Cantlay spends playing golf every day
He currently occupies 11th place in the official world golf ranking (OWGR), but has no victories for the 2024 season.
But it may not be long until Cantlay returns to the winner’s circle, particularly given his thorough practice regime.
Talking to a group of the best juniors in California, Cantlay revealed his routine on The Golfer’s Journal, saying: “I mean on a normal day it’s going to be five or six hours at the golf course practicing… four or five hours.

“That doesn’t mean I’m not doing stuff at the gym or warming up to practice, which I do every day, even when I’m practicing I do a full warm up.”
And discussing his time on the range, chipping and putting, he added: “It’s not hard to think it’s a third, a third, a third. Maybe a little less putting in general.”
Will Patrick Cantlay’s practice regime help him on the 2025 PGA Tour?
Cantlay will be desperate to clinch his ninth PGA Tour win sooner rather than later, having come close on several occasions this season.
The American hugely impressed with his T3 finish at the US Open, joining Tony Finau at Pinehurst this summer.
Their fellow American Bryson DeChambeau came out on top to lift the trophy, having battled it out with PGA Tour star Rory McIlroy.
Cantlay also finished T3 at the RBC Heritage and T4 at The Genesis Invitational, before clinching T17 at the Tour Championship.
