Tiger Woods didn’t manage to play in the Genesis but he was on hand to run the rule over a number of players competing in the event, including good friend, Justin Thomas.
Thomas has not won on the PGA Tour since 2022, and for a player who has won multiple majors and is in double figures for PGA Tour wins, that seems too long.
Still, there are signs that the American is coming back to some sort of form. Thomas finished second at the AMEX before rallying to finish sixth at the WM Open last week.

In the end, despite his upturn in form, it wasn’t good enough to get near the top of the leaderboard but according to Tiger Woods, a victory is not far away.

Tiger Woods makes prediction about Justin Thomas
Woods was speaking about his good friend Justin Thomas in the commentary booth for CBS as the Genesis came to a close.
And with Thomas putting in a solid round of three under to finish in a tie for ninth, Woods believes a win is not far away for the two-time major champion.
“I do [think Thomas will win again soon]. He has put some of the pieces together that towards the end of last year in his swing, implemented them. He feels really comfortable,” Woods said.
“His words are that he hasn’t got a whole lot out of his rounds. Maybe he just needs to make one putt here or there, up an up and down, or an iron shot that you don’t hit in the right place. There are just little things he needs to clean up.”
Justin Thomas’ win percentage on the PGA Tour since 2010
While ‘JT’ might be struggling for wins at the moment, his career on the whole has been a huge success and he’s among a select group of players with a good win percentage in the last decade and a half.
Thomas ranks fourth in terms of win percentage for events played (more than 100 since 2010).
Indeed, the only players with a more impressive percentage are Rory McIlroy, Tiger Woods, and Scottie Scheffler.
