There have been more withdrawals at the Wyndham Championship this week than there are most other weeks on the PGA Tour.
The Wyndham Championship provides a great opportunity for PGA Tour players further down the FedEx Cup points list to force their way inside the top 70 ahead of the FedEx St. Jude Championship next week.
Three players withdrew from the Wyndham Championship immediately after the horn sounded due to inclement weather on Friday, and now more golfers have followed suit.
Cameron Young is leading the Wyndham Championship, as he looks to make a late push for the top-30 in the FedEx Cup standings.
Young has also suggested that he is aiming for a place on the Ryder Cup team, and if he manages to win this week he’ll have every chance of doing just that.
While things are looking up for the 28-year-old New Yorker, one player in particular is heading in completely the opposite direction.
Tom Kim pulls out of the Wyndham Championship
The 2025 season has been a real struggle for Tom Kim. He has fallen from 11th in the world all the way down to 64th, and the harder he works, the worse he seems to play during tournaments.
And now the 23-year-old’s season is official finished until the fall.

He is ranked in 89th position on the FedEx Cup points list, and after pulling out of the Wyndham Championship, he has no chance of making the FedEx St. Jude Championship next week.
Kim, who has three wins on the PGA Tour, is currently suffering from a real crisis of confidence.
He has not won since 2023 and is a shadow of his former self right now.
Kim was another player who split with his caddie earlier this season, but like everyone else who has done the same, his results have not changed for the better.
Now it’s very much back to the drawing board for the 2022 Wyndham Championship winner.
Tom Kim’s stats from the 2025 PGA Tour season
| Stats | Kim’s 2025 rank |
| Strokes gained off the tee | 126th |
| Strokes gained approach | 53rd |
| Strokes gained around the green | 47th |
| Strokes gained scrambling | 104th |
| Strokes gained putting | 138th |
| Strokes gained total | 88th |
The biggest problem for Kim is that so many departments of his game have simply not been working this season.
The 23-year-old clearly requires a huge overhaul during the off-season.
A lot of hard work will be required for Kim, if he is to return to somewhere near his best on the PGA Tour in 2026.
