While the PGA Tour season might have come to an end at East Lake last week, there’s still plenty of golf to get us through the autumn and winter months.
There are still some big events on the DP World Tour, while LIV Golf hasn’t come to a conclusion just yet either.
Furthermore, we also have the Solheim Cup next week and then following on from that, we have the excitement of the Presidents Cup to take us into October.
Of course, Rory McIlroy and Bryson DeChambeau have also announced their team head to head in Las Vegas in December, meaning it won’t be too long until we’re right back at the start of a new season.

For now, the Presidents Cup is probably the most exciting tournament to look forward to.
And with Team USA stacked with huge talent – including world number one Scottie Scheffler – all eyes are on just how much they might win by.
But with Scheffler having a bit of a sketchy record in match-play, it might come down to a few others to step up and shine.
With that in mind, the Golfing Gazette has taken a look at THREE players on Team USA who could outshine Scottie Scheffler in this year’s Presidents Cup.
Three American golfers who can outdo Scottie Scheffler in the Presidents Cup
Collin Morikawa
Few players finished the PGA Tour season in as good form as Collin Morikawa and he very much seems to be on an upward trend in terms of his game.
Morikawa finished second to Scheffler in the Tour Championship and would have actually won had it not been for the under-par starts.
For Morikawa, 2024 was a season of near misses really as he twice finished runner-up and got inside the top five in another four events.
You get the feeling, then, that Morikawa is very much out to finish his year on a high.

Brian Harman
One of the more unassuming players on this USA team is Brian Harman and in tournament conditions when the pressure is on, he could be a big player.
Harman has often frustrated with the time he can take to play and take shots and after Harman admitted he had a nightmare at The Masters in April, few would have predicted he’d be in the mix for Jim Furyk’s team.
Nevertheless, Harman is indeed in the team and has a good chance to stake his claim for a Ryder Cup pick by producing in Montreal.

Sahith Theegala
One of the most likeable characters on the PGA Tour right now, Theegala won praise for calling a foul on himself at the Tour Championship last weekend.
With that now behind him and a third place finish to go with it anyway, Theegala comes into the Presidents Cup as a man in form.
Furthermore, if ever there was a golfer made for match-play golf in the way he gets the crowd involved and is willing to play for the team, then it’s Sahith Theegala.
Theegala, then, could very much end up being one of Jim Furyk’s top guys and could be key to taking the pressure off the likes of Scheffler.
