Steve Stricker’s side ran out victorious, and Scheffler enjoyed an impressive start to match-play life, recording 2-0-1 on debut, including an emphatic singles win over Jon Rahm.
2022 Presidents Cup – Quail Hollow Golf Club
Scheffler’s Presidents Cup debut, however, wasn’t one to remember at Quail Hollow. The world number one lost both of his foursome matches before halving his fourball match.
Yet more misery followed in the singles after Scheffler was beaten 2&1 by Sebastián Muñoz.
Scheffler finished the 2022 Presidents Cup winless and record of 0-3-1.
2023 Ryder Cup – Marco Simone Golf and Country Club
Scheffler’s poor match-play form continued into the 2023 Ryder Cup at Marco Simone. The American failed to win and amassed just one point as Zach Johnson’s side suffered a crushing defeat.
The American lost his opening foursome match alongside Sam Burns before halving his fourball match with Brooks Koepka.
In Saturday’s foursomes, Scheffler and Koepka lost 9&7 to Ludvig Aberg and Viktor Hovland before he halved his singles match against Jon Rahm.
