Automatic Qualifiers

The following list shows the six players who qualified for the United States Presidents Cup team via the FedEx Cup standings, alongside their appearances at the event.

Headlined by Scottie Scheffler and Xander Schauffele, the US will once again have the upper hand in terms of quality at this year’s Presidents Cup.

Even in the absence of Brooks Keopka and Bryson DeChambeau, they have far more strength in depth than the International Team.

The above six players have 40 career wins between them and are all ranked in the top 15 in the Official Golf World Ranking.

Captain’s Picks

The following list shows the six players United States captain Jim Furyk picked for the Presidents Cup, alongside their appearances at the event.

One could argue that Furyk’s picks were not surprising as they were the six highest-ranked players available to him at the time.

That being said, Tour Championship fourth place Russell Henley and BMW Championship winner Keegan Bradley were not expected to make the team before excellent performances at the FedEx Cup Playoffs.

Meanwhile, many believe that Max Homa is lucky to be involved having struggled for form in recent weeks.

The likes of Justin Thomas, who has an excellent record in team events, and BMW PGA Championship winner Billy Horschel are among the most high-profile snubs.
