Scottie Scheffler has ended his PGA Tour season on a high after clinching another victory at the Tour Championship.

Scheffler stunned fans with a final round shank at East Lake, but the American still did more than enough to claim top spot.

He began the third and final FedExCup Playoff event in first place on 10 under, with Scheffler finishing on 30 under at the Tour Championship.

Matt Fitzpatrick has congratulated Scheffler on his latest success, with the latter now on seven wins for the season.

The world number one also clinched a gold medal at the Olympics, while he almost had further success but finished runner-up at the Texas Children’s Houston Open and the Charles Schwab Challenge.

Scottie Scheffler planning for Presidents Cup success

Scheffler’s season isn’t over, however, with the 28-year-old set to compete for the US Team at this year’s Presidents Cup.

Having been asked to put his year so far into words in his Tour Championship winning press conference, Scheffler responded: “If you can describe it in words, more power to you, because I don’t think I can.

“It’s been a long year. It’s been a very fun year. I think emotionally right now I’m pretty drained. So I’m looking forward to going home and getting rest for a week or so before I start prepping for the Presidents Cup because that’s a tournament that I really want us to go out there and win.

“I really don’t know how to put it into words. It’s been a very eventful year but it’s been really fun. You had the one weird spot there at Valhalla, which… I just don’t really know what to say about it, but everything else has been pretty special.”

Can Scottie Scheffler continue his success at the Presidents Cup?

Scheffler has dominated the PGA Tour this season, with the world number one adding 16 top-10 finishes to his honours, having made 19/19 cuts.

He will undoubtedly celebrate his Tour Championship success, but at the same time will have one eye on the Presidents Cup.

Royal Montreal Golf Club hosts the next edition of the event at the end of September, with USA the defending champions.

They defeated the International Team 17 ½ – 12 ½ at Quail Hollow Club in 2022, where Scheffler featured heavily.

Jim Furyk will captain the US Team in Montreal later this month, with Mike Weir captaining the International Team.
