Tiger Woods roared back into life alongside his son Charlie at the PNC Championship and with 2025 around the corner, it’s whet the appetite of golf fans around the world over what Woods could produce.
After a nightmare 2024 saw him make the cut in just one of the majors and hobble out of another, 2025 looks set to be another tough year for the injury-ravaged Woods.
However, Woods celebrated a hole in one for Charlie and the 15-time major winner even suggested Charlie hits it further than he did at 15 as he very much seemed to get his love for the game back.
Of course, golf is one of the most addictive sports around and seeing Woods back involved and enjoying it only fuels the fire of fans and amateurs around the world.
Indeed, we can harp back to some comments from Woods from his early days, where he explained very clearly why golf is so addictive for everyone who plays.

Tiger Woods shares why golf is such an addictive sport
Looking at the footage shared by the OfficialTourPro X account, Woods’ words on the game of golf ring so true.
“I think anyone who has ever played the game of golf can relate to us. I can’t relate to someone who can dunk from the foul line, or kick a soccer ball 60 yards in the air. I can’t relate because I can’t do it,” Woods said.
“They can relate to us as golfers because they can do that. They can make a six foot putt, they can hit a shot 100 yards and know how it feels to be nervous because there’s water, there’s bunkers, there’s trouble everywhere, they know how it feels. And so it is fascinating to people who have played the game at any level, whether they’re great at it, or terrible at it. It is fascinating because they can relate to what we’re going through and can see the internal struggles on our face.
“You’re trying to figure it out, because you’ve been there and you know how it feels.”
Tiger Woods is one of sport’s greatest icons
Every sport has someone who transcends their game and when it comes to golf, it is the name of Tiger Woods that always comes up among the masses.
In the NBA, Michael Jordan still reigns supreme while in the NHL, Wayne Gretzky is likely to forever be the main man.
When it comes to golf, Tiger Woods is going to be the guy until something or someone miraculous comes along.
Sure enough, we have other top stars like Rory McIlroy, Scottie Scheffler and Bryson DeChambeau, all doing wonderful things in the game of golf that deserve recognition.
But when it comes to impact on the game and a lasting legacy beyond just playing golf, Woods is very much out on his own when it comes to the sport.
