The PNC Championship was headlined by Tiger Woods and Bernhard Langer’s showdown and legendary golfer Gary Player has now given his reaction to the events.

Team Woods were beaten by Team Langer in the end as Bernhard managed to make a putt on the playoff hole to prevent the result nearly every fan on the course wanted.

Langer hit what Woods called one of the best shots ever in getting the win, although golf fans fumed at Langer being able to use the front tees.

Still, it was a successful tournament and while he might not have been among the challengers to win, 89-year-old Gary Player was rolling back the years with his grandson.

However, just like the rest of us, Player was mesmerised by events at the top of the leader-board and he’s now given his reaction to proceedings.

Gary Player reacts to Tiger Woods v Bernhard Langer at the PNC Championship

Taking to his social media account over on X to make a statement, the classy Player delivered some kind words for Langer and Woods, before echoing the thoughts of others.

Indeed, Tiger Woods paid tribute to Player after the event and suggested he is leading the way for the modern golfer to follow in terms of fitness and keeping going in the game.

What’s been said about Bernhard Langer’s win at the PNC Championship?

Given we are in December and golf is meant to be on the wind down a bit, the PNC Championship proved to be a brilliant event with enthralling action.

LIV Golf star Bubba Watson was delighted with what he saw while golf fans in general were in awe of how good Charlie Woods performed.

With Charlie’s hole in one and Padraig Harrington’s son doing the same, the PNC had some major moments that were fit for any stage.

Ahead of 2025, golf is getting back to being in a good place and this was the ideal way to end things.
